Katie Ditschun

Katie Ditschun is Folk/Pop and Jazz artist with a flare for playing with and inserting various other styles in her songwriting. With the support of a FACTOR grant, Katie Ditschun released her debut album, Spare Skirt (2018). From that release, her singles “The Moon” and “That is that.” were both finalists in the 2018 Canadian Independent Music Video Awards. Five songs from that album have received airplay.

In 2020 Katie released her holiday single “Be Still,” and it was immediately included in the CBC Holiday Playlist and continues to receive airtime on multiple formats including radio stations across Canada every year at Christmastime.

Her first attempt to write her own jazz songs garnered her recognition in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC). In both 2022 and 2025 the title track “One Voice” was an ISC Jazz category Semi-finalist.  Her original Jazz EP One Voice was released in 2022. 

Most recently, Katie released her Folk/Pop EP There Will Be Flowers (April 2025). The previously released lead single “In Your Arms” (October 2024) was a 2025 Pop category Finalist in the InterContinental Music Awards.

Katie frequently performs as a Jazz act or singer-songwriter, solo and with a small band across eastern Ontario. Recently she had the privilege of opening for Juno nominated artist Ndidi O at the St. Lawrence Acoustic Stage in Morrisburg, Ontario.

Over the last couple of years, a large amount her of her focus was on opening her own music school. In the fall of 2024 Katie and her business partner created and opened the Seaway Valley Music Academy, in Cornwall, Ontario. Katie earned her music degree at Berklee College of Music.
