Inspired by Jazz, Blues, Funk, and women singer-songwriters, and with the support of a FACTOR grant, Katie Ditschun released her debut album, Spare Skirt (2019). From that release, her singles “The Moon” and “That is that.” were both finalists in the Canadian Independent Music Video Awards (2020).
Katie’s holiday single “Be Still,” (2020) was included in the CBC Holiday Playlist and continues to receive airtime on multiple formats including radio stations across Canada every year at Christmastime.
Katie released her original jazz EP One Voice (2022). The title track “One Voice” is an International Songwriting Competition (ISC) 2022 and 2025 Jazz category Semifinalist.
More recently, Katie released her Folk/Pop EP titled THERE WILL BE FLOWERS (2025). The lead single “In Your Arms” (Oct 2024) was an InterContinental Songwriting Competition 2025 Pop category Finalist. Katie earned her music degree at Berklee College of Music.
